About Preston Industrial Plastics

HISTORY

Jim McWilliam and Duncan Watkinson, both local Prestonians, met whilst working for Wavin Plastics, located on Preston Docks in the Early 1970s.
Wavin decided to close the Preston depot leaving the pair with a dilemma, to move with Wavin to the North East or start a business for themselves.

Recognizing a gap in the market, in 1971 Preston Industrial Plastic was established, operating from Aqueduct Street in Preston and to this day the business still operates from the same site.

In 1984, Paul Watkinson, son of Duncan joined the business followed by John McWilliam in 1993, son of Jim, consolidating the business into a truly diverse family business.

Both Duncan and Jim retired in 1997 leaving the Company in the capable hands of Paul & John to run Preston Industrial Plastics and to this day are the Directors of the business.
